VIEWS OF ENGLAND AND WALES
The Views of England and Wales collection from the Centre for Regional and Local History at the University of Leicester comprises just over 2000 digitised topographic prints, paintings, drawings and photographs, most of which date from the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, plus a small number from the seventeenth and twentieth centuries. The majority of them depict both urban and rural landscapes and buildings, but there are also some portraits and depictions of historical events among the materials.
In January 2024 a Midland History article by Juliet Bailey, Alister Sutherland and William Farrell was published on-line, it will probably appear in a print edition later in 2024.
