The New Dishley Society Celebrates the 300th Anniversary of the Birth of Robert Bakewell of Dishley Grange, Loughborough

The Tercentenary Lecture will be given by Mr John Thorley OBE, FRAgS, on ‘Robert Bakewell and his Enduring Influence in the UK and Abroad‘ in Room EHB110A in the Edward Herbert Building (63 on the map), by kind permission of Loughborough University.

Parking charges apply at £1 after 6.30pm.

This is a FREE ticketed event.

A New Book: Robert Bakewell Britain’s Foremost Livestock Breeder will be available from mid May 2025 for £25, plus £4 post & packing inland UK. It has been written by New Dishley Society members. It contains, inter alia, much newly researched material on the Bakewell family, their farming provenance, the distribution of his famous animals and his bankruptcy.

It is hardback format, illustrated, and will be about 340 pages.

Copies can be purchased at the lecture and other local events.
