Percy Gee Building, University of Leicester, University Road, Leicester LE1 7RH.

The annual Celebration of Heritage event will take place on Saturday 22 March 2025, in collaboration with Literary Leicester.

This free public event brings people and organisations together providing opportunities to explore our campus heritage and collections, and to discover and celebrate the rich history and heritage of our city and region.

There will be hands-on activities for all ages. You can find out about exciting developments at the Jewry Wall Museum with representatives from Leicester Museums and Galleries and the Friends of the Jewry Wall Museum, and try your hand at Roman jewellery making!

Many colleagues will be hosting stalls and activities, including Professor Kate Loveman showcasing research on Samuel Pepys’s Diary, the Great Fire of London and Deaf History, and interactive displays from Archives and Special Collections and the East Midlands Oral History Archive. We are also looking forward to musical entertainment from our talented student musicians.

We are excited to welcome organisations from across our city and region, showcasing some amazing venues and programmes.

Last year we welcomed over 50 stallholders on the day including departments from the University, local and regional partners, and this year will be bigger still! We are looking forward to welcoming many new exhibitors, including Social Gallery and the UK South Asian Digital Archive.
